Protect Open Space
Those of us who live in the 29th District our fortunate. We have a vibrant farming community with many horse, dairy, poultry, and grain farms. We are home to Delaware’s largest Amish community. The rural nature of the 29th District is special. Let’s keep it that way.

Approximately 85% of the 29th District lies outside the Growth Zone. Despite this fact, the 29th District has been one of the fastest growing areas in the State over the past decade. As the results of the 2006 Levy Court elections show, the people of the 29th District want elected officials who are committed to protecting the rural nature of Kent County from unbridled growth. Trey will be your advocate.

Preserve our tax structure
In 2005, The Tax Foundation, a policy research group, determined that Delaware was the third most tax friendly state in the country. 47 other states have higher state and local taxes. Of course people want to move here - especially from nearby states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland – three states known for their crushing property taxes.

It’s time for us to wake up folks! Our schools require ambitious plans for more space, new schools, and improved technology. Our prisons are becoming overcrowded. DelDot is broke as transportation demands outpace revenue growth. The demand for government services continues to grow as our population swells. Our State wastes money on projects that leave many of us shaking our heads in disbelief. We need Representatives who are equipped to understand the complex budget issues facing our State and who are willing to make the tough decisions. Trey is a self-described fiscal conservative whose background and experience in finance and small business will serve Delaware well.

Prepare for the future
The future is bright for Delaware... if we make the right decisions!

We have to recognize that people will continue to move here as long as our taxes are low and our quality of life is high. Growth will continue. Will we do it wisely or will we fall into to the same traps as our neighbors, leading us to higher property and school taxes?

Public safety and education should be our top two priorities. We must ensure that adequate road, school, and public safety infrastructure is in place before development continues.
